Being Busy #101

As you may have noticed, I haven't been updating my blog in the last 2 weeks. I'm really sorry as I know some of you are really missing some of my posts, especially the Mail Day Monday ;) Well, I'm not giving up on it, I have just been really busy lately and trying to get used to my new life.

I have to organize things differently and it's taking me a bit of time to figure out how to do as many things as I used to in a very limited amount of time. But I'm still pretty confident that I'll find my way into it and I'll be back to blogging in NO time ;)

You should read me again very soon my dear followers!

Mail Day =]

I know it's not Monday and I also know that there wasn't a Thursday's Music this week but things are changing in my life so the days I post on this blog are going to change as well.
New life, new schedule, new organization. As I don't know if I'll find the time tomorrow to post what was in my mailbox, I am doing it today so that you don't miss it.

So, what did I find in my mailbox this week?

2 nice postcards: one is from Romania (I got it from a swap on P&L Forum) and the other is from Texas, from a penpal of mine :)

And those are the stamps on the US postcard, very lovely :)

I also found 5 amazing letters from: Denmark, Germany, Spain, Italy and Croatia.

And some mail went out to various destinations. You can see 2 envelopes with a decotape style #tryingoutnewthings.

See you soon :)

Penpals philosophy 101

I will try to make this not too long as I don't want to bore you with some philosophic/psychologic questions but still, I think this is a very interesting subject to discuss.

One of my penpals asked me 2 questions recently about my relationships to my penpals and the way I write to them. When I started answering her, I felt like it was a really good subject to talk about and felt like I wanted to go deeper in my answers. Thus, I decided to bring up the subject on my blog between a Mail Day and a Music Day.

Her first question was (sorry B. if I'm changing some words): Do you feel like you have the same kind of relationship with all of your penpals?

Well, that's a very interesting question indeed. At first, you might be tempted to say "Yes of course, they are all dear friends of mine" but if you think about it, even with your real life friends, your relationship to each one of them is different. Every person is different and with that comes the fact that every relationship is different. With some people you can be joking all the time, as well as talking about more serious subjects and with others, it might be more about emotions, how you feel, what you think about a certain situation or moment in your life.

Apart from the fact that you have known a person longer than another - let's just consider that you have met all of your penpals on the same day so there is no time issue - the relationship will be based on the first words you said and the first subjects you talked about. If you made a joke when you first contacted someone and the person was very receptive then you might use more jokes in the future with that person when on the other side you started with the music subject with someone else, then your relationship might be based on more artistic values.

To me, every relationship had to be different because we are all different and put in pairs, we create a whole new world together. Having different relationships doesn't mean you love one person more than the other, it means you're so rich with relationship experiences that your heart is full of smiles and emotions.

I would really love to have your opinion on this subject so do not hesitate to share it with me and the other readers in this Bubbly World. I would totally agree that you disagree with me :)

I know I said there were 2 questions, but I'll save the second one for another post. Who knows? Wednesday might become a philosophy/psychology day ;)

Happy Mailbox =]

I was spoiled with letters this week. I can't remember when was the last time I got that many letters. It made ME and my mailbox very happy :)

Here are some pictures of what was in the mail last week and also some letters that I sent out...

I received a very nice postcard from a dear friend of mine who was traveling in Asia.

And those are the stamps on the back of the postcard: very beautiful.

This is Part 1 of the letters I received. They are coming from: Ireland, USA, Costa Rica, The Netherlands, Croatia and Finland...

...and here comes Part 2, letters that reached my mailbox on Saturday. This is what can be called a Happy Mail Day. Letters are from: USA (2 of them), Ireland, Taiwan and Spain.

Those are letters that I sent to Germany and to the USA :)

And those are the stamps I used on some of the letters I sent out last week!

That should keep me busy for the next coming days. I will try and answer all of your fantastic letters this week. Starting from next week, I'll be more busy again so let's hope I manage to answer all those letters very soon... But apparently, some more letters are on their way to my mailbox so there should be a lot more Happy Mail Days to come =]

Thursday's music - Album #03

Where do you usually find new music listen to? Do you listen to the radio? Do you ask friends for music advice? Do you get inspired by music in films or TV Shows? Do you go to music store and listen to music there? Do you read magazines?

There are lots of ways to discover new music to listen to... I have to admit that my main sources of new music are TV Shows. The soundtrack in most show is always so inspiring in my opinion. So today, for the 3rd episode of Thursday's music, I am going to introduce you to an artist that I discovered of one of the new promising TV Shows that I love watching.

Today's artist is Darius Rucker with his album "Charleston, SC 1966". I discovered Darius' music in the show Hart of Dixie. I immediately fell in love with his voice and his country/rock music with an ounce of R'n'B.

I think the only way to present Darius is to feature an extract of his album so here it goes... Please, listen to This, the song that made me discover this amazing artist.

Darius Rucker's discography is available on iTunes: Darius Rucker.

See you next Thursday =]

We all need a laugh, don't we?

I have a very wide sense of humor. Even though I'm a very sarcastic person, I do laugh at most stupid jokes. Like we say in France, I am a very good audience ;)

Do you want to know what makes me laugh the most at the moment? Well, I am going to tell you anyway as it has to be shared with the whole world.

There's this new show on CBS which started a few weeks ago. It's about 2 waitresses who work in a dinner in Brooklyn. Both of them are broke and decided to save money to open up their own cupcake business. The scenarists of this show are definitely amazing. I don't know how they managed to put so many jokes in a 20-minute episode - jokes that are actually funny.

There isn't an episode which hasn't made me laugh yet so I thought I should really share this with you. You definitely should check out this show called 2 broke girls if you haven't done so yet.

Here is a video preview which I hope will make you want to see more of it...

Another week of mail =]

And it's Monday again! Where did the time go? It's been flying pretty fast lately, don't you agree?
Well, as it is Monday and there is nothing that I can change about it, let's enjoy the "Mail Day" on Let's be Bubbly =]

Last week, I received a few letters, sent some out (but forgot to take pictures of most of them), made some improvement to my envelopes (or at least tried) and also got a beautiful postcard from the other end of the World. Here it goes...

4 letters coming from: Colombia, Germany, Italy and the US.

A beautiful postcards from my penpal in Malaysia who was traveling in Japan.

A letter going to Ireland which I hope will make it there soon.

Another letter currently traveling to Croatia for a very special girl (I'm sorry for spoiling the surprise, hope you will like the envelope though ^^)

And another letter going to Italy. Look at the stamps? isn't it an improvement from the ugly blue stickers at the post office?!

I'll see you next Monday for another week of mail.

Let's be Sporty today =]

Today was the Final of the Rugby World Cup which took place at the Eden Park in Auckland, New Zealand. For those of you who already know me, you probably know that rugby is always a big part of my weekends... For the others, well, I love rugby.

I know Rugby isn't famous or of interest in every country so I won't bore you with the game's rules. No, instead I have a better game to present you... (be patient)
The 2 teams involved in the Final today were France and -to my opinion- the best team in the World - the New Zealand All Blacks. France lost to one little point, 7-8... But this is not the point of my post.

Rugby has lots of "hotties" within its rows so today the game isn't about who was the strongest on the field but who is going to win in the we-have-the-hottest-player game.

Let me introduce you to my 2 favorite players in the World... And thankfully one of them happens to be French and the other is from New-Zealand: how convenient!

French player: Morgan Parra

Kiwi player: Dan Carter

So, who is your winner from? France or New Zealand?!

Thursday's music - Album #02

Yes, people, it's time for the second episode of Thursday's music. I have received a pretty good feedback on last week's album so I hope you're going to like the 2nd one that I am going to introduce right now.

Today, we are not traveling to the USA but staying in Europe as we also have some pretty amazing artists around here. So, where do you think I'm taking you?
Well, we are taking the Thalys from Paris and going straight to Jacques Brel's homeland: Belgium.

Today's artist is Jonathan Vandenbroeck, who you might know better under the name of... Milow.

Does the name Milow ring a bell to any of you? You might have heard his cover version of "Ayo Technology" which was a huge success, not only in Europe but in the entire world. His latest album, North and South, was released at the end of the summer and as soon as it was out, I had to have it and so I did.

Milow has an enchanting voice which directly uplifts you into his own universe. His music is a mix of pop and folk with lots of acoustic guitar, just like I love it. The songs of his fourth album are a musical journey that I will never stop taking. Milow is a talented musician, writer and singer who I hope is going to make you travel as much as he makes me do.

My favorite song from his new album is Move to town. This song reflects in the best way why one would want to leave the constant stress of the city to enjoy the quietness and warmth of small towns... so, who wants to move to town?

If you want to listen to more of his songs and buy all of his albums, you can find him on iTunes: Milow.

I hope you enjoyed this 2nd episode of Thursday's music and I'm now letting you dream while listening to Milow's charming voice...

See you next Thursday! Where do you think we'll be going next week? Any guesses?

2 weeks of mail

The past two weeks haven't really been very active when it comes to receiving letters or mail in general. But even though I have only got 3 letters, I still have some pictures to share with you...

Here are 3 letters from: The Netherlands, the US and Canada.

I also received my order from Papiton.de // lots of new Diddl letter pads.

And here are some stamps that I ordered online to embellish your letters. I am a bit fed up with how the stickers from the machine at the post office look (kind of ugly) so from now on you will get nice envelopes with beautiful stamps!

And those are 4 letters that I sent out last Friday. They are going to: the US, Spain and Belgium.

See you next week, with hopefully a lot more mail to share with you.

Thursday's music - Album #01

I have decided to create a new section in my Blog and share music that I like with you on every Thursday. I have always loved listening to music (and playing it as well but that's one of my secret) and as far as I can remember, I have always had music punctuating every step of my life. Every memory of my life, good or bad, is linked to a special song or artist and every time I hear this special sound or voice, the memory comes back to me.

So let's start with the first episode of "Thursday's music"... Today, I want to share with you a very special album which was released last week by a very special band that I have loved for years.

Here you have the cover of Jack's Mannequin new album: "People and Things" // Has anybody listened to their new album? No disappointment on my part, this album is as good as the previous one and maybe even better. I discovered Jack's Mannequin in One Tree Hill a few years ago when their song "The Mixed Tape" was featured in one of the episodes in Season 3 and I completely fell in love with Andrew McMahon's voice.

If you don't know or have never heard any music by Jack's Mannequin, here is an extract of their new album which totally reflects their greatness when it comes to music...

If like me, you love their music, you can find all their music on iTunes by following this link: Jack's Mannequin - Music.

Like I said before, every memory of my life is linked to some special music - well, Jack's mannequin does bring lots of memory back to life, especially the beginning of 2008 - me, my car and the ocean in La Rochelle and later that year it was me, my car and Luxembourg... and it also makes me think of 2 special persons, one of them has often been sat next to me in my car while listening to Jack's mannequin's music and the other one, who will hopefully recognize herself is a dear friend of mine who also share the love that I have for this awesome band. Jack's mannequin only brings back good memories to me!

I hope you enjoyed this first episode of "Thursday's music". If you have any artist or album you would like to be featured in this section, do not hesitate to message me or leave a comment on this post. I'll be in touch ;)

2 weeks of mail

Well, Hello everyone :)

I got pretty spoilt with letters in the past 2 weeks so I thought I'd share an overview of all the wonderful letters that I received recently.

How many letters can you see on those pictures? Yeah, you're right, 11 letters. It's a pretty good amount in only 2 weeks, I don't usually receive that many letters but as I have been very active in the penpalling world recently, well letters come to me in a bigger amount.

So, where did all those letters come from? Well, from 9 different countries! USA, Italy, Ireland, The Netherlands, Belgium, UK, Croatia, Germany and Spain.

Thank you all for such wonderful letters!

Ringer - Pilot Episode

As some of you might already know, I have some sort of an addiction for TV shows and what is September for TV shows addicts? Well it's the start of new seasons and the opportunity to discover new shows.

One of these new shows is... Ringer. Also know as Sarah Michelle Gellar's come back on TV. Ringer's premiere was yesterday night on the CW. I had been waiting for it for quite a while now as the trailer was kind of intriguing so it was with lots of excitement that I woke up this morning to finally watch the serie's premiere.

At first, I found a lot of similarities to another show that recently started on ABC Family called "The Lying Game" (based on Sara Shepard's new series). Two sisters, twins, one takes the place of the other and discovers what kind of life her sister had, she finds out she had a lover, etc. You have to wait until the last second of the episode to realize there's actually nothing in common with both shows. The storyline is way different and seems to actually be well-thought on the Ringer's side. This is a very promising show and I am already looking forward to watching next week's episode.

Apparently, Sara Michelle Gellar is back! and there's no vampires in sight.

A week of mail

I am back to blogging, at least for the moment. It's been a while and I thought I'd get back with pictures of what was in my mailbox last week...

I got 3 letters from Italy, USA and Denmark... and a package full of make-up products that I had ordered earlier last week. The package is amazing, I got the products I ordered which are worth 102€ and I paid only 40€ as each product was discounted to 5€... plus I got free products, a magazine and lots of samples. Happy Me :D

What you can / what you can't send in a letter?

I haven't really updated my blog recently due to my crazy life (yes I do have a very entertaining life... no, I'm kidding, I'm just a lazy ***) but there is a subject I want to discuss with you guys.

Do you have any ideas of what can and what can't be sent in a letter to your country? Like for example, you can't send tea to Australia.

I had never thought about things that couldn't be sent to or from France before a few weeks ago when one of my penpals from Croatia received my letter and the envelope had been opened and then the next week, I received as well 2 letters that had been opened but seemed like all the content was still inside.

One of the letters that reached me opened

See how careful people at the post office in France are?! They put the letter in a safe plastic bag so that nothing would get out of the envelope... It says on that plastic bag that the letter reached France already damaged but do they really go through all the mail and carefully put the damaged one in a plastic bag to serve the receiver perfectly? I have some doubts. I'd rather think they are the ones who opened it.

Anyway, it happened twice in the same week and both the letters were carrying tea (one from the UK and one from the US) but the tea bags were still inside so I guess we can send tea to France but why would they open it? Is it because you can only put sheets of paper in a standard envelope? otherwise you should send the letter as a "small package"? so that when they feel like there's something in a flat envelope that shouldn't be, they have to check?!

I feel like, with the time, the weirdest things happen at Post Offices. They have rules that nobody knows about and for God's sake, why can't one send tea to Australia? Do they make bombs with Teabags?!

Happy Mailbox

I received lots of amazing mail this week as well :)

A Tea-rific swap from Japan (and I have already tasted some of the teas which are delicious)

I also received a letter from Iran and address labels that I had ordered on Etsy. Labels that you will see on my next letters to you :)

And here are 2 letters: 1 from the Netherlands and the other one from the USA.

And another letter from the USA :)

And to finish the week on a sweet note, I received this Candy Swap from Germany.

Thanks to another week of mail, I am now absolutely late with answering my letters but I'll try to do my best and answer most of the letters this week before other letters start getting here again.

xoxo
